The Miracle In Owning Your Life - Loving Your Story
Who are you, really, do you know? Do you look back across
the years you've lived and enjoy what you see? Is it a complete story you
wouldn't mind publishing for the world to see? Probably not; most of us travel
across some bumpy terrain on the way to growing up and growing older. We make
mistakes; we miss opportunities and then spend years regretting not having seen
the chances that could have made a difference. This is real life; we have
regrets, some more than others.
Do you own all of you; your entire life story? The real test
is how much you are willing to honestly share when you meet someone you know
could be really important to your future; someone you could love. If the road
you've traveled is filled with potholes you may choose to be less than honest;
they might leave. The choice is difficult; but not nearly as tough as running
from it.
We are all vulnerable in some way; it's the chinks in our
armor we wear through life. You can hide them and turn away, or embrace them
and polish the chinks and dents and take a chance. The alternative is to give
up on attracting love and joy in our lives, in feeling like we truly belong to
another. These are the places where we are most vulnerable and least likely to
reveal our entire life story. We are afraid to own it if there could be
additional losses to endure.
Is there a miracle to be found in owning your life story,
all of it? There is; changing your mind is a miracle. Altering your perception
of your past and who you have become from believing it is shameful or should be
hidden to knowing it has made you the person you are today is miraculous. Isn't
it strange, with all those bumps and bruises and maybe even deep cuts, the
person you are is the one someone will fall in love with and embrace; if you
are courageous enough to allow them to.
When you explore and embrace the darkness you find the
incredible light that guided you through and filled you with the parts you find
easy to love. A miracle is when you can look at you through the eyes of love
and not fear. You own your story by accepting it, embracing it and loving you.
When you can truly experience this, you will attract exactly the right partner
in your life; one who loves the story that made you.
